For  Summer Task 17: Gotta Catch 'Em All!  (3/3)

It's been an exciting year for Pokemon, with Pokemon Go being a huge phenomenon and Sun and Moon just around the corner. We want to join in the fun by  inviting you to adapt your CS character(s) into Pokemon Trainers! Are they successful? Are they really bad at it? Are they a new adventurer sent out by Professor Star (The Lady of the Stars), about to challenge the league champion, or taking on contests? Just want to tell us about their favorite Pokemon? That all sounds great! 

The Trainer:

Pteri is a Geologist from chilly Snowbelle City.  His research focuses on bio-reactive minerals, such as Evolutionary Stones and Mega Stones.  Specifically, he is researching the possibility of lab-creating these stones, making them more affordable for trainers and less-attractive to damaging mining operations.  His field work takes him to remote caves and mountains across the world to seek out stone samples.  (In his personal research, Pteri studies the regional differences in the chemical makeup of Evolutionary Stones and what effects these differences may have on evolved Pokemon.)

Pteri never set out to join Team Rocket.  He joined a private research firm out of university and, like his cowrkers, paid little attention when the firm was eventually bought out.  Paychecks were still coming out on time and requests for new equipment were being honored, so no one really asked about the new owners.  But then the uniforms showed up.  Little red Rs everywhere.  Pteri thought it was a joke.  But then the Lieutenants arrived and it was clear that none of them were laughing.  With his research owned by the firm (now Team Rocket's firm), Pteri has no choice but to remain with Team Rocket if he wants to finish his work.  (Not to mention that he's never heard of anyone quitting Team Rocket.)  Thankfully, Rocket Boss Cepheus and his Lieutenants are happy for their science division to focus on science, rather than Pokemon-snatching.  For his part, Pteri does his best to hide his Pokeballs while in the field so that trainers don't challenge him while he's on the clock.

After hours, Pteri is an active member of an online forum for rockhounds, under the handle RockCat.  He has a reputation for knowing his rocks and for having access to rare and unusual specimens for trade.

The Usual Suspects:
Moni: Pteri met Moni through an online rock-collector's forum.  They swap stone samples and location tips online and have gone rock-hunting together in the past.  Pteri scrupulously avoids her while he's "on the clock" and does his best to tip her off if a certain one-eyed Rocket Lieutenant is going to be in her area.
Ka'Ah: A fellow Team Rocket member, Ka'Ah consults with Pteri about Mega Stones for the Pokemon on his team and allows Pteri to use his Sharpedo as a research subject.  Pteri greatly respects Ka'Ah's skill as a trainer and as a breeder.  ST 17: Gotta Catch 'Em All!: Team Rocket Assistant

The Crew:

 Heidi

- Species: Purugly (Shiny)
- Personality: Bossy, Scrapper
- Notes: Hand-reared by Pteri from kittenhood, Heidi is very possessive of her Trainer.  She accompanies him on his rock-hunting trips, often doing some hunting of her own while he digs for rocks.  She quite enjoys hats and Pteri has amassed a small collection of them for her.  (His phone may or may not be full of pictures of Heidi in said hats.)

 Rhodolite (Rho)

- Species: Diancie
- Personality: Sweet, Playful
- Notes: Rho was a lucky find for Pteri.  A bit of a runt, Rho was found hiding in a Carbink den that Pteri was investigating.  The playful Diancie took a shine to him and has been on his team ever since.  Pteri has an experimental Mega Stone for Diancie.  It works excellently while in Kalos, but doesn't seem to work quite right in other regions . . .

 Terra

- Species: Claydoll
- Personality: Shy
- History: Pteri didn't find Terra so much as rescue them from Heidi, who had decided that Terra was an excellent victi--er--plaything.  The poor Claydoll was so shaken by Heidi's playful attacks that Pteri took it home and nursed it back to health.  Once it was well again, Pteri decided to keep it.  It's still jumpy around Heidi, but in no danger.  Heidi has since decided that Terra doesn't taste terribly good anyway.

Diamond (Didi)

- Species: Froslass
- Personality: Haughty
- History: Pteri caught Didi near his home in Snowbelle City while he was still a young Pokemon trainer.  She's one of his mainstays should he have to battle.  She has a cool head and an efficient battle style that requires almost no guidance from Pteri.  While she may seem cold and unfriendly at first glance, she does love her teammates and can be seen making igloos and snow sculptures for them when they're relaxing.

 Sapphire (Fifi) 

- Species: Swoobat
- Personality: Tactician, Cuddler
- History: Fifi is a clever clog and a big help to Pteri when he is exploring remote caves.  He depends on Fifi to help him remember the way out and to alert him to dangers in the caves ahead.  She loves exploring with Pteri and his team and chirps excitedly whenever they enter a new cave.  She's also a sweetie and loves nothing more than to leave heart-shaped kisses on her friends.

 Seric (Ricky)

- Speces: Steelix
- Personality: Adventurous, Fatherly
- History: Seric has been on Pteri's team the longest of any of his Pokemon and takes it to be his role to keep an eye on the rest of his teammates.  Pteri rides Seric when he needs to cover large distances and enjoys taking him out in the desert to have a good fun run.  Ptero has an experimental Mega Stone for Steelix.  It works well in Kanto and Johto, but doesn't seem to work quite right in other regions . . .
